Intensive Russian Strikes Cut Electricity Across Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have faced escalating attacks in the past few days

During the night, Moscow's aerial assaults have led to electricity outages in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were injured while local people in the city's east were plunged into darkness and faced interruptions to water supplies, as stated by municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a minor was killed in a distinct aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, according to local officials.

Moscow has escalated attacks on energy facilities over recent weeks, while officials has demanded "concrete actions" from partner nations to apply pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the United States, Europe and the major economies - in delivering air defence systems and applying penalties," mentioned in a online statement.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 missiles targeted the country's power systems, labeling such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were working to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes damaged electrical systems and civilian homes in the capital.

Several of the people hurt in the attacks on the capital have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by local officials.

Area administrators said the urban area came under heavy assaults throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child was killed and multiple civilians were wounded.

The attacks come after nights of aerial attacks in the area, portions of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

All of Ukraine is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to spot.

National leaders told the media that Moscow was purposely seeking to damage the national power system, with attacks already disrupting energy systems.

Officials stated utility staff and officials were preparing for further attacks.
